DeepDive: Dual Circulation – Is China Really Turning Inward?

We have run several quantitative textual analyses of over 150 pages of Chinese text on or related to China’s dual circulation strategy. The aim of the analyses was to identify where China sees its priorities under the strategy, how it aims to drive growth moving forward, and how it views the current domestic and international landscape.

All of the texts extracted were published by Qiushi between 2020 and 2022. Quishi is the CCP’s official theoretical journal published by the Central Party School and the CCP Central Committee. More details on the text selection criteria are provided in the Methodology and Sources section at the end of the analysis.
